Three Rivers Aluminum Company (TRACO) of Zelienople, Pennsylvania is operating a double module Roxidizer® installation. Each module handles 20,000 CFM of exhaust containing VOC’s from their existing paint line. Tellkamp Systems has provided TRACO with equipment on two prior occasions. TRACO currently utilizes an anodizing line and vertical extrusion paint system, both manufactured by Tellkamp Systems.

Multiple Sources

A total of six (6) sources feed the Roxidizer® modules. The sources connected to the Roxidizer® include the bake oven, four (4) automatic spray booths and a batch spray booth. TRACO preferred the two (2) unit configuration because of the flexibility offered by the system, with as few as two sources being operated at any given time. Identical, skid mounted units provide tremendous turndown capability.

A single PLC based control panel is used to control both of the Roxidizers®. The operator interface indicated which sources are on and going to a given Roxidizer®. Destruction efficiency test results indicate that the double module installation achieves a 99% destruction of hydrocarbons.

VOC Capture Efficiency

The integration of the Roxidizer® at TRACO required the design of capture enclosure to maximize the VOC abatement strategy. Knowledge in paint system operation and performance is crucial to achieving satisfactory VOC capture results. Past projects have resulted in 95% to 99% capture efficiency results.

EASCO INSTALLS
TWO ROXIDIZERS®

Easco Aluminum has installed Roxidizer® Model 15’s at both its Berlin, Connecticut and Girard, Ohio plants. Both installations feature flash enclosures for high VOC capture efficiency and patented Air Volume Reduction techniques to minimize the equipment size. A Special heat rejection mode handles periods of production when VOC concentrations are unusually high.

The Berlin, Connecticut Roxidizer® was installed for odor, as well as VOC control. The Roxidizer® in Gerard, Ohio was purchased to control VOC’s resulting from a plant expansion when a second paint line was added. Tellkamp Systems also provided spray booths and a stainless steel power spray washer for the new line.

BAKERY PROCESS USES ROXIDIZER®

Feed Commodities based in Ontario, California processes bakery waste into animal feed. The 20,000 cfm Roxidizer® will control ethanol emissions from a large rotary kiln. High concentrations of ethanol will allow the Roxidizer® to operate fuel free in the VOC destruction mode of operation. The Roxidizer® system was designed to handle heavy particulates and oils from the process exhaust.
